As some of you may know we have recently returned from Las Vegas. We were there for about 5 days due to a few shoots and a photography convention (WPPI). When we promised to post about our Vegas trip, we did not know just how embarrassing the photos would be. They are beyond silly. Nonetheless, they show how much fun we had with our new photographer friends.

Excuse low quality photos
So, C & I stayed at the Luxor Hotel on Las Vegas Boulevard (the strip). This hotel was a great deal, and it was within walking distance of the MGM grand and other famous hotels on the strip. When we arrived in our hotel lobby with our overly packed luggage, we immediately felt the Vegas scene was not for us. We were surrounded by skimply dressed girls drunkishly stumbling in heels, about 3 or 4 brides taking snapshots of themselves, and the sound of slot machines ding-ing. As we looked at each other, Christine had a slightly disgusted expression on her face, and I, a simple big smile in shock awe of it all. We were starving and exhausted from a very long trip, and were ready to eat and crash. On our way up to our room in the pyramid-shaped building, we had not realized that the elevators would take us up DIAGONALLY! We felt ourselves being slanted unnaturally, and yet we could not tell into which direction. When we saw our room in the pyramid we were less than impressed. We were on the 3rd floor, and therefore had no view; not to mention the room was hardly glamorous. With tired and discouraged spirits, we headed to the food court to grab a bite, when Christine had the genius idea to upgrade rooms. After a tosty quizno’s sub, we asked the receptionist the cost to upgrade, and we were surprised with a free upgrade to the 19th floor!!! We were now excited to be in Vegas and the trip quickly improved from there!
** may i (christine) add a quick line to the above paragraph
perhaps V simply tried to suppress the horror of the events that unfolded after our genius idea to upgrade rooms, but they are definitely worth mentioning: after a long day of traveling with our 50lb suitcases, mary-poppin-esque purses, and our backpacks , it is not hard to image one loosing track of one of the above mentioned bags… and exactly that happened. When we got off of the millionth elevator trying to get to our room (i kid you not, they have about 59 elevators all assigned to different areas of the hotel) i indeed lost track of one of my bags…. the very bag that holds ~$8,000 of equipment my livelihood! My heart stopped for an entire 15 minutes, after a most lovely security guard handed it back to me. Talk about luck! We should have gambled while there!

Fact worth mentioning: The Luxor Hotel is actually where the rock-n-roll magician Chris Angel lives and performs almost every night. While in Vegas, Christine developed a mad crush on Chris Angel soon after watching his show
Now we both have crushes on dark celebrities (mine is Adam Lambert!)
Visiting the Caesar’s Palace!

Outside the Paris Hotel right before meeting our clients for a shoot!

Dressed up for the Airhorns and Lasers Party, a get-together of over 500 photographers from all over the country and world!
We did not mean to match, but we did not mind one bit ![]()

At the Airhorns and Lasers Party, we met new and old friends.
Dancing with Jose Villa on the left, and being silly with Ben Harrison Photography on the right.
Ben & Laura Harrison are fantastic-super-funny photographers based in Michigan, traveling the world shooting fabulous weddings. They were without a doubt, some of our favorite photogs. we met while in Vegas!

We then met my muse photographer, Jasmine Star, who was indescribably brilliant.

Dinner at MIX. If you are in Vegas and want to splurge on a fantasticly lavish meal, do go to MIX.

And now, a few shots from the photobooth we played with at the Airhorn and Lasers Photography party:

In the booth are our good friends/clients Matt & Katie from Australia, as well as Caroline Ghetes and Jenny Tarau from North Carolina!
***UPDATE*** We have more Vegas pictures for you:
Did we mention we made a quick diversion to Arizona ?!
Our fabulous clients (on their wedding day) brought us to see the hoover dam as this was only about 10 miles from where we were shooting
Talk about awesome people!

The massive Hoover Dam
