Aimee and Jonathan’s Wedding

Aimee and Jonathan’s Wedding was nothing short of fabulous.  Seriously, everything about it was perfection– starting with the tenderness of their wedding vows, to the meaning of THE PURPLE WEDDING DRESS. Fabulous. the couple first met and discovered their infatuation for one another at a book store, so books just HAD to be incorporated in the Aimee & Jonathan’s Wedding.  The cream and peach vintage books are the most unique wedding programs we have ever seen! The centerpieces incorporated coffee beans, yet another element present at the book store the first time Aimee and Jonathan met. This beautiful couple resides in New York, but having roots in Alabama, they chose to marry here, at the Huntsville Round House Train Depot. In New York city Aimee is none-other than fashion designer, and although one may think this is why she chose such a different wedding dress, that is only part of the reason. As toasts were being emotionally spoken at their reception, Aimee’s maid of honor who had known the bride since kindergarten, revealed the true reason behind the purple wedding dress! With tears in her eyes, she recounted her childhood memories of  when Aimee swore she would be married in a purple wedding dress, today she was proud to see her best friend follow through with the bold but wonderful choice. Aimee designed and crafted the gown herself! with a sweet heart top and two taffeta tiers of curled egg-plant colored fabric as her train.  She created the bottom tier of her gown to purposely detach so that things could get “funky” on the dance floor ;)

Apart from the bride’s bouquet and the groom’s boutonniere, hardly any flowers were used in the wedding. We loved how fans, feathers, and branches appropriately replaced flowers in all the aspects of the event.
