San Francisco’s misty skies lent themselves as a remarkable backdrop for Molly and Mike’s Short Film session. Molly let her hair down for this shoot, and oh my goodness was she breathtaking! As the wind whipped her hair in the most gorgeous shapes, Mike kept her warm and shielded. She worked the Pacific wind like an expert model, and although we were all quite freezing, the couple did not fail to look incredible for one instant. M&M also brought along a family made Hawaiian crown, crafted from the most vibrant, freshest flowers. It was perfect, and it added such a meaningful, not to mention gorgeous touch of color to the images.

Mike and Molly, we are so happy we were able to shoot this session after all, despite the traffic on the Bay Bridge You guys are just fantastic, full of love to share with one another and the world.

I think it finally hit me just exactly why Facebook, Blogs, and Twitter have conquered the contemporary world. Social Media is not at all a complicated formula that relates to this time and date only. It is in fact based on the oldest principle; a purely innate principle that is in each of us: curiosity.

I started thinking about what came before blogs, yes I am that big of a “social-nerd”… I think about blogs even when I am not browsing them. But really, before there were blogs, we used to look to movies and fiction to enter another life and “relate”. Then came the dreaded (at least by me) reality tv. However, once Facebook came about, this twisted-good interest in other people’s lives became more and more real. Facebook allowed us to not only relate to other people, but share in on their personal REAL lives. Which brings me to– Twitter– it is the epitome of voyeurism, curiosity, and human relations. Not only that, but it also gratifies those basic human needs.

Although I really do despise most reality tv, I personally adore twitter. Through it, I not only feel I get to know others in this industry, but I am priviledged to be able to INTERACT with peers all over the country.

We want YOU to follow us on Twitter because we want to share our travels, iphone photos, thoughts, adventures, and many ordinary moments with you. We want to be able to know you, and for you to know us. It’s really just that simple nowadays, you just have to click “FOLLOW“. So go ahead, indulge in curiosity and click the magic word!

Atlanta, GA Wedding Photographer | Allie & Brock

I have never seen a bride more happy to walk down the aisle. Allie squealed of joy as she saw her Brock under the overflowing green arch where they would become man and wife. Allie was also sweetly vocal about how much she loved her SimplyBloom images. I wish I could post her voice-mail thanking us for the photos, and how her and her new hubby teared up re-living the day through the captures. This kind of appreciation is really what makes it all worthwhile, and what we believe makes us the luckiest and most successful.

Allie and Brock are originally from Atlanta, GA however currently live in beautiful L.A. Their classic wedding took place at one of our favorite southern venues right outside Atlanta: The Barnsley Gardens. The bride looked so graceful and couture in her Priscilla of Boston gown and Stuart Weitzman purple pumps, of which we could not get enough of! Brock looked extra sharp in his Calvin Klein suit. Allie’s smile and laughter are undoubtedly contagious. She is a bundle of bubbly happiness, and as you can imagine, on her wedding day, this sparkling happiness shined through that much more. Their wedding had a dash of French class, as well as a sprinkle of southern charm: The apple pie favors, for example, were topped off with custom made DIY tags which read “Merci“. Their wedding cake was a beautiful little jewel, with such craftsmanship and detail. The hints of wild moss combined with lilac blooms, made up the main elements of their unique decor. Allie and Brock are a modelesque couple and such fun to photograph and laugh with.

We want to thank them just as much as they thanked us for their wonderful spirits and for the immense honor of immortalizing such a beautiful and meaningful moment in their lives.

Happy Friday lovely bloomers! thank you for coming to our site on the best day of the week! Friday entails: shorter work hours, the last few hrs sitting at a desk, time to hang out with friends and family, maybe do a little shopping…oh! hold on a minute!… let’s expand on the shopping portion. Check out some of the most stylish bridesmaids on the world wide web…

Erin the bride, had her best & beautiful gals wear custom designed kelly green dresses. One was more beautiful than the next! The modern silhouettes paired with the romantic ruffles, were the perfect ingredients for unforgettable bridesmaid dresses.

Sarah’s approach to bridesmaid dresses was probably the most rustic chic look. Shades of ivory, rose, white, and eggshell, contrasted so softly with one another to evoke visual euphoria for the romantic in each of us. (Scarves found on Etsy)

And finally, a group of ladies so stylish, we know they will have you at the edge of your seat ready to head out to your local mall. Trang’s girlfriends looked more like couture models than bridesmaids. The varied shdes of purple and grays were modern, stylish and altogether gorgeous. Moreover what was beautiful about these stylish gowns, was the blend of textures! From sequins, to smooth silkls, to beading, ruffles and folds, the ladies could not have looked better… The whole group was a showstopper… (Fabulous dresses by: JCrew, French Connection, Anthropologie, and Banana Republic)

Molly & Mike | Napa Valley Wedding Photography

Molly and Mike had one of the most tasteful events we’ve ever seen. The day commenced with breezy sunshine and concluded under twinkling lights at dusk. Yet so much happened in between. The Wente Vineyards in the hills of nothern California looked especially painterly on Molly and Mike’s wedding day. The entire day flowed as smoothly as the bride floated and glowed about. There were so many elements and moments that made this wedding extraordinary, I will just have to name a few:

The venue : This setting was perfect for a classy, fresh, and carefree atmosphere. You did not have to be a wine connoisseur to be able to recognize how magnificent this winery really is.

The bride and groom: Not ony are Molly and Mike a super sharp looking couple, they are also both zoologist, animal lovers, family lovers, hikers, and altogether great people. no, really!

The emotions: Of course all weddings have a few tears here and there, however this one was especially beautiful in all the emotions it encapsulated. The way Mike was moved by Molly walking down the aisle was an unforgettable moment, even as just an outsider. The drowning love this couple has for one another is palpable.

The details: This one almost deserves subcategories! However let’s just say that no perfect wedding is complete without a few great design and decor details. From the florals, to the bridesmaids’ custom clutches, every little feature seemed carried out with such taste and attention to detail. The blue hues were not only beautiful, but added a bold touch of class!

Journey | New England Weddings

There is something about the approach of fall that makes one evaluate. What a journey we’ve been on in the past two years, and especially this year. Ups, downs, drama, euphoria, pretty things, ugly things– we’ve encountered it all, stuck it out, and emerged. Above all, Christine and I have found out how perfectly and imperfectly different we truly are; in fact we may even say we are opposites. Artistically and visually we are very much the same, but on a personal basis we are so different: I am an open book and quite social, while she is more reserved and homely. I like my fries mushy and she likes them crispy, you know vital differences like that!? We’ve had to figure out some major things lately and it’s been quite tough honestly. We ask for your support and encouragement through it all. Your comments, priceless words, and commitment to our business and work are fuel to my fire and without it I would be extinguished. Thank You.

This past weekend we had the amazing opportunity to travel to New England. From Boston to Cape Cod Massachusetts, and from there to Franconia New Hampshire. We worked on a styled shoot alongside fabulous planner, Desiree Spinner and shot the most mountain-chic wedding. Both events were absolutely glorious and so lovely in their unique ways. We want to prematurely share 2 small snippets. I love the following photos because they each seem to perfectly capture and emit the beauty & simplicity of the New England landscapes:

Eye candy while we are away

We have loads of sessions and weddings coming up- 21 and counting to be exact– all these are yet to be blogged. Needless to say, there is a lot of prettiness coming up including: a winery wedding with an Hawaiian flare, a dreamy Italian wedding, a farm wedding with a chicken as the guest of honor… and literally, everything in between. Seriously, we can literally say that our cameras have seen IT ALL this year! Before all this wedding galore is slowly released, we’d like to give you a small taste of one of our latest & favorite photo shoot set ups– giant paper flowers!

The extravagant, yet delicate paper flowers that Mary Elizabeth crafted herself were our dream. We actually fantasized about all the ways in which we’d used them, they were that glorious!

We are currently shooting a stlyed session and wedding in Massachussets and New Hampshire respectively; we promise that, at our return, we shall keep you posted with a colorful spectrum of pretty photos!

This post is mainly targeted toward wedding photographers, but brides & guests– if you read on, you are sure to get a few giggles too

Let’s be honest here, weddings are fabulous, fun, and beautiful; but they are also monumental, hectic, and sometimes just a little bit crazy. Interacting with so many individuals a year has presented to be quite the entertainment, and our lives have been everything but dull… so we thought we’d share some of the silliness…

10 crazy wedding related episodes:

• Asking the planner: “what time is the bouquet toss?” and her replying: “I don’t know, I thought they just did that”

• Father of the bride making a move on me

• Mother of the bride asking us not to post photos of the wedding cake because she believed it looked horrible

• Bride crying in the middle of her reception sitting on her father’s lap…

• Bride falling knee-deep in a pit during her engagement session

• Forward guy at a reception trying to pull my camera away from my body, demanding to want to take my picture!

• Wedding cake ruined on wedding day during transportation

• Having our IDs, and the ones of our clients’ checked by cops while using CHALK on a wall (which we wiped right off!)

• Having 3 new photography studios in our town, containing the word “simply”

• Being asked if we do photography as a “high school project” LOL!

And THAT my internet friends, is the comical reality of it all Since it was quite embarrassing to admit the 10 above episodes, please do share with us: “what’s the craziest thing that has happened to you on the job” !?
