So this reality post is a day late, and before you are quick to judge– we did not slack… we actually got so into this post that we spent way too much time on it. We are constantly saying we like to live vicariously through our clients because we loved planning our own weddings so much, we could do it again and again. Looking back, both Christine and I wish we would have known more about how many inspirational wedding sites there are out there. If you are a bride planning her wedding and looking for inspiration– check out the “Links we <3″ on the toolbar at the top of our blog. Which leads me perfectly into the topic of today’s belated reality post. We thought it would be fun to plan our weddings all over again. So this reality post could technically be titled: “Our Dream Weddings– if we could do it all over again”.
I personally had forgotten the intimidating amount of ideas, information, colors, concepts that are involved with weddings. It is truly tough to narrow it down: what color? what gown? what venue? what theme? what flowers? … I think you get my point here ;) In any case, we HAVE narrowed it down and I think our Dream Weddings would be pretty incredible…

Vania’s Dream Wedding:
This would be my do-over gown. My theory when it comes to THE gown is: “the more the better”

My Decor would be almost identical to this. I love the long table set-up, it’s so intimate! and the numerous chandeliers are just enchanting

The following venue is something so dear to my heart, and I would make it my wedding venue in a heart-beat if I had a do-over! I would have loved to have gotten married where I grew up in Sorrento, Italy. Part of the yellow striped home was actually my grandparents’, I have many childhood memories there… they have now turned the mansion into a hotel.

I took this next photo on my last trip to Italy; It shows the cliff where the venue sits . The reddish building is actually where my parents got married!!

This is the groom I would choose…. oh wait I already did that!

My groom’s attire would also have to be different & unique. I love the stitching & colors in the blue suits, but I am also loving these sharp gray suits from one of our weddings.

The headpiece is in my opinion to die-for. It is not an exaggeration, rather a statement. I can guarantee that everyone who knows me personally and is reading this, is currently saying “yup, that’s very Vania”. The shoes are Ann Taylor, they too make me swoon. All this peach-colored tulle is perfection.

My invites would look something like this. I absolutely adore the calligraphy & yummy vintage stamps on the right.

If these bridesmaids dresses were a kind of food, they would be Chocolate Souffles…

My cakes would be a combination of these. I love the “Martha Stewart” feel they all have: fresh and clean.

Hope you enjoyed peeking at the main elements of my Dream Wedding, now onto Christine’s….
My Dream Wedding would be a conglomeration of bits and pieces of all lovely things french and english (think marie antoinette meets pride and prejudice).

It would take place at gorgeous palace ( image 1) such as this one. You may remember this particular one from Mr. Darcy’s home in Pride and Prejudice
The bouquet (image 2) would have to be a whimsical mix of pastel colored ranunculuses, poppies, and huge wild roses.
For the gown, I would still -to this day- go with the one I wanted to have for my wedding 2 years ago. The budget unfortunately did not allow for it
It is a design by Melissa Sweet, called Fern. (image 3) The bridesmaids would be dressed in various styles of lace and tule dresses in peach hues. (image 5)
